Need new CPU

Hey, I have an Intel 945GC chipset. It has a Celeron 440 2.0ghz CPU right now. I really need an upgrade on it but I'm kind of on a budget (who isn't?). If someone can post a link to a good value CPU that fits my system. Thanks!

I believe we're going to need more information than just your chipset. If you give us your motherboard make and model, it would make it much easier.

well its a Emachines T3656 ive tried to look up the motherboard make and model on it they should all be made with the same right?

Use CPU-Z or a program like it to check for sure but this should be your motherboard CPU support.

I believe your machine has a Intel® Celeron® Processor 440

which means it is socket 775 which means it is the same socket as the core 2/ core quads.
but i cant find any information to know wheather or not it will support these cpu's

Likely it will not be able to support a Core 2 Quad Processor because it is an E-machines system.

Okay, so i downloaded the program and this is what it showed me under mainboard. Also i took a peek inside my system and found out my power supply is only 250W so im guessing i would need to upgrade that as well?

ive checekd it out it says that mobo is rev : A2 which means it will support up to 1066 Mhz frontside bus, meaning you will be able to use the core 2 duo line upto an fsb of 1066 Mhz
