1gb pc3200 to be repaced by pc2700 ram

There were 8 pcs of 1Gb pc3200 ram on a power mac G5. One was broken. Can I replace it with a 1Gb pc2700 ram?

yes, but all of your pc3200 will be underclocked to pc2700, so it may actually be better to not put a new one in

8GB PC2700 or 7GB PC3200...tough call.

If you already have the PC2700 memory, stick it in and see how it performs compared to 7GB PC3200.

If you don't already have it, don't waste your money I would say. an extra 1GB from 7GB will make not too much difference, you would lose out because of the lower speed
