will a 1kw PSU be damaged if used in P3 system?
would this be a problem to the PSU? will some of its components be damaged?:confused:

The simple answer is no. The PSU supplies a maximum of 1000Watts in your case. If the system only needs 200Watts, it will only take that, no more. As a result, it will not damage anything. The PSU itself will remain just fine. In fact, it will not be under much stress theoretically meaning it should even last longer than if it were under high stress.

Actually super low stress on a power supply can cause issues with effeciency, but shouldnt affect the life of the unit in any measurable way.

Its nothing to worry about

As long as the psu has the correct cables to hook up to the mobo you will be fine. IE: 20 or 24 pin mobo


Power supplies are designed to only draw the necessary amount of power (watts and amps)3
