Hi all, Im at work but I was just wondering... My specs are below.

I did not tweak any of my bios settings, would this mean that turboboost is on or off?

If it is off and I want to turn it on do I need a third party HS fan?

Thanks!

Matt

Turboboost is enabled by default, it changes the multiplier to 21 or 22, depending on mobo I think. Mine was running at 2.78GHz and I didn't even touch a thing....

dude I have no idea how to do that, changing the frequency or something, is it simple to get my ram to a faster mghz?

Yeah, it's pretty easy to get it to run at it's native speed.

Check your specs and enter the timings manually in the BIOS, and bump up the voltage if needed.

There is actually easier way. The very first option gives you choices, Auto, Manual, DOCP and something else. Choose DOCP and DDR3-1600 profile. This will automatically change voltage and frequency of the RAM as well as change the multiplier to 17 to make it stable.

Is that like XMP Profiles? Forgot about that. That's all I have to do on my board. :o

hey thanks guys! i probally wont see a performance difference right?

Probably not, but it will make you feel better about spending the money on 1600Mhz RAM. :D

I've got another problem...Every time when I am trying to OC the CPU I get BSOD. My setup is in my sig. I use the TurboV EVO software from Asus. When I increase the BLK I think it is and go to test stability in Everest I get BSOD.....

Post your Super Pi score here:

You're 4th fastest on the whole forum. :good:

Thank you m8. I'll do that....I'll be on third now. Thanks.

=============

How I enabled Turbo Boost?

Enable most of Intel's features,
set ENABLE in bios
Turbo Boost; C1E; C3/C6/C7; LLC

Turbo Boost is a great feature that I've notice not too many users actually taking its advantages.

BUT......do notice....I have ran many many tests extensively with Turbo Boost. I've found at 183 bclk is rock solid stable that bases on my hardwares.
