New Intel processors released

haven't they discarded the pentium name already? or are they too braindead to think of a new name? :P

Pentium is sort of the icon of Intel though. So long as they haven't still got the crappy flawed architecture and have slightly revised it, it will be good for a budget build

I think what they're doing is just using that name for their lower-end processors, just like the Core2 Duo and the Pentium Dual, now it's the Pentium Gxxxx for LGA 1156 vs the Core i3/i5 for LGA 1156

I am curious to see how these new GPU CPUs do....wonder if they will work nicely with the GPU of your computer to push the frames out.

I know labtop users will love them though....cuts out a drain on their battery now :P

I don't think the GPU on CPU is intended for gamers. It's just gonna be a step up from onboard.
That's what I'm thinking. I don't think that Intel would try to compete with ATI or Nvidia, while still not producing a discrete graphics board. Although, a GPU core clock of 700+ MHz isn't bad....

The Intel says that the GPU on i5 and i3 will play HD movie no problem and play popular games. Popular games.....Sollitaire? 3D of course.

I saw those new H55 motherboards for those CPU's and it kind of lowered my expectations because the motherboards included integrated vga ports which you don't really see on motherboards anymore. Plus, I don't understand why Intel made the whole Clarkdale line-up "dual-core". I was expecting that $300 i5 processor to be a quad not dual. :(

300$ is a little ridiculous, but it is the starting-out price. Also, the VGA port is just an output for the integrated graphics on the CPU. I think Intel's just trying to phase LGA 775 out and phase LGA 1156 in as the lower-end motherboard design. The H55 specifically.

Wow, those'd be great for a budget build... I can tell they're trying to surpass the Phenoms budget-wise, and they're doing it, really. I hope AMD can throw something out there to reclaim their budget leadership.

I think that you're onto something. Intel's high-end Core2 Quads were more powerful than the high-end Phenom II X4s, but were always a lot more expensive. The processors for LGA 1156 can most likely beat the price and the power.
