Yes, but they'd have to be run at the same speeds/timings, and this can cause issues sometimes if one stick is better than the other, or one stick can't do lower timings, etc. So you may be sacrificing overclocking performance...

Also, don't get a single 2Gb stick; you'd be running in single channel mode instead of utilising the dual channel features on your motherboard which greatly increases your memory bandwidth.

That's roughly the best I can currently find, since DDR2's prices are WAY up at the moment, so you should probably try and find some RAM used. If I hadn't already dipped in to my Nehalem upgrade fund, I would sell you my 4Gb of OCZ Blades for £50 shipped, easily. :)

thanks for that, been looking everywhere for good cheap ram, i think ill bookmark that page soo when i want another stick ill go straight there and buy the same stick soo my mobo doesnt have problems then, thanks a lot fella ;)

Pleasure. That's the only reason I signed up here: To help. :)

If you can, try and get 4Gb of RAM, though. It's a huge step-up from 2Gb if you're doing anything system intensive, and if you're using a 64 bit operating system, it utilises all the RAM beautifully, and has no issues with any software (a common misconception is that 64 bit operating systems have a lot of incompatibility issues).

Try and find some RAM on eBay for cheap, that's about your best bet, as well as browsing various Forums, etc. To try and find some.

Good luck for the search!

newegg.com always has some decent deals on ram. they always have something on sale that is very nice. I think i got two heat-sinked 1gb sticks of ram for the normal price of one.

Since he mentions prices in Great British Pounds Sterling, something tells me he's not American. :P

Yeah that :D im not intending on using any programs that may use a lot of ram, proberly the program that will use the most of the memory will be my anti virus :D

louism, I *maybe* have 2x2GB OCZ Gold Series PC6400 memory for sale. If so and you can find an extra £10 from somewhere, they are yours (sold another set on ebay for the same price a couple weeks back).

If not, then you can get the single 2GB stick posted up already, or you can go for 2x1GB dual channel kit from here:

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/2GB-...800)-240-Pins-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-CAS-4-4-4-12

generally Scan have cheaper p&p than OcUK and 99 times out of 100 have better customer services.

If you are in North East though, you may be better going to Overclockers because they are based in Newcastle, so you can pick it up, negating shipping, if you are in North West, Scan may be better because they are in Boloton :)

i think im gunna stick with the ocz 2gb stick, i dont want two 1gb stick come to think of it, if i could afford just that extra £10 then u got a deal but i really cant, bad times mate at the moment, struggling for money and i need a computer as my one at the moment is on its last life!
