Can't reinstall XP

Hi,
I've done a few reinstalls of Windows XP (OEM) before, on different drives as well, and now it won't let me install onto my new Veloci Raptor. It gets to the key entry, I type it in and it then says its unauthorised or something like that. Is there a limit for fresh installs or something like that. Its the original mobo as well. I don't want (read can't afford cause i just spent my computer budget on HD, Cooler, Blu-Ray and game) to buy a new OS if I can help it. Which leads to my other question, does this happen if I buy a full version? ( as apposed to upgrade, OEM etc). Please help, I wanna use my Raptor.:(

Cheers.

Are you using the same windows in diferent HDDs (computers) at the same time or just installed in diferent hdds one at the time?
About error can you be more especific giving the exact error?

I searched for your problem and:
Is your Windows CD Key original?
If it is i think that when he gives you the error you can always
phone microsoft to activate the key to run with that cd.

It was only ever one disk at a time. It's been totally legitimate every disk. I just assumed it would be unlimited with that mobo. For example, what happens if you have a few hard drive failures. It's not really your fault is it. As for the actual msg I'll have to try another install.

Yes, about the fact that if an hdd blows up you can always change it and put the same windows on it.But if you change the motherboard you should
buy a new windows CD..
Being OEM for microsoft means its boughted with the machine and dies when the motherboard dies...even if the motherboard die after 1 year...strange isnt it?
Anyway, when you are trying to imput the CD key and gives you the unauthorised key or something, he gives you the option the phone microsoft
to activate the key that you have doesnt it?
Use it.

From memory (mine is shit) it didn't give me that option. Just an unauthorised jibber & an OK button. I'll call MS & see what they say. Thanx for your help.

Are you sure you are entering the key right? If you are getting an invalid key error at that point, usually it means you entered the key wrong.
