Budget computer build?

I have $600 in my Paypal account, and I can order from www.TigerDirect.ca ; I'm planning to build it. This is going to be my first DIY computers.

Main use:
• Gaming (MW2, Borderlands, L4D2, etc)
• Research (Homework etc.)
• Entertainment (Music and Videos, etc)
• Multitasking (Listening to music and playing games without minor lag)

Budget:
• $600 CAN.

Available locations:
www.TigerDirect.ca

Notes:
• I plan to use this computer for years
• I have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse
• I have an OS already, so exclude that
• I need every other part basically

EDIT:I only just noticed but you put intel build in the title? if so i apoligise,But i think you will get a better system for the money going AMD,Intel tends to be more expensive.

For the price i think its a good build :),And will certianly run those games you want to play :)
But someone could probably do a better one...but its a tight budget for a gaming build.

^ That's good, but look a bit closer.

-The GPU has GDDR2, unlike most other 4670s that have GDDR3. The memory speed is cut in half. There's a newer version but I can't find it on the canadian site. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150449

-If it's an issue, that mobo has the older 770 chipset

-You forgot the dvd burner

-Shipping will put that well over budget

OP, As far as your paypal account goes, I believe they have some sort of virtual credit/debit card thing that allows you to use sites that don't accept pp.

You can get to it after logging into your acct by clicking on the "withdraw" tab and then the "Shop Online with Paypal virtual card" link.

Arghhh! you edited your post and put up a build list just like mine lol...:P
Lol :D

I wouldnt use that Psu....
No? I thought XClio was ok..?

Ah well...changed it to an Antec.

edit: TS, the PSU he posted is better than mine, though it puts the computer over budget with both builds. If you can splurge on it, do so.

Disregard shipping charges, It's free if you purchase $100.00 and up and is under 20 pounds or so. I'll just make two different orders. Also, AMD is fine.

Edit: You used NewEgg, so indeed it will charge, sorry. It has to be TigerDirect.

I left space in the budget for shipping...

Ah well, here's a similar rig with TD parts:

Mobo: MSI 785GM-E51 ($90) (TD has nothing like this for the price)
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130247&Tpk=MSI 785GM-E51

CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 435 ($83) (This is $119 at TD)
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...724&cm_re=athlon_II_x3-_-19-103-724-_-Product

RAM: G-Skill Ripjaws 2x2GB ($97) (cheapest 4gb DC at tigerdirect is $140, and isn't as fast)
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16820231277

GPU: XFX Radeon HD4670 ($78) (TD's gpu selection is really poor...shipping won't be bad)
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125277

Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB ($55)
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4499974&CatId=2459

DVD Burner: MSI DH-20AL ($33)
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5255085&CatId=1624

PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W ($74)
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4362114&CatId=1483

Case- Cooler Master Elite 310 ($53)
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4950634&CatId=1520

Total cost: ~570 before shipping, shouldn't go over budget after.

The reason I keps the stuff from newegg is because even though you have to pay shipping, you still often get a better product for the price. All but the mobo is small, light stuff, so shipping shouldn't be bad.

Why not?

They have bomber's approval. :good:

My friend had an Xclio fail on him just a month after buying it,also read somewhere on another forum of a similar situation aswell....i know any psu reguardless of make can just fail but that hearing/seeing that would put me off.
Id much rather go with a better brand such as Antec,Ocz etc.

bombers approval lol :D.....

Xclio PSU are great I use them all the time. They are the best budget PSU out there for the price. I believe the stable power line uses channel well parts just like the corsair(not just like it but you get what I mean) but don't quote me on that:)
