If you want a powerful, cheap CPU than some good ones to look for are the Celeron Dual-core E3200 and E3300, and the Pentium Dual-Core E5200, but for some reason that list says that they aren't supported by your motherboard. If they really aren't, then it depends on what you want to spend. Of course, in either scenario it depends a lot on your budget :)

Thank you for your response.
I really just want the most powerful CPU I can get, while it still works on my current motherboard.
Taking a quick look on those listed CPU's, it seems that many of them are totally outdated and very slow. Which one is the most powerfull of those who are listed?

Thank you once again !

As it is LGA775 all E5xxx, E7xxx and E8xxx series will be compatible with it.
For a start you could change your motheboard but if you want just a CPU:

1. Intel Core 2 Duo E8200
2. Intel Core 2 Duo E7400
3. Intel Core 2 Duo E5200

these are the ones that are currently worth the money. Over the time E8400 and E8600 will be cheaper.

Okay, thank you very much.

In case that I want to change my motherboard. What combination of motherboard and CPU would you recommend? It have to be affordable - you know :D

Thank you !

Once again thank you.

Can these boards be combined with the I5 and I7 Intel CPU's, and another noob question - Will they fit in the motherboard slot where my old board was?

I really appreciate your help.

I would wait a week or so because amd just brought out a new line up and prices will plummet on the older tech along with the oppositions hopefully :)

I would not get a Socket 775 motherboard. Intel isn't going to make any new processors for Socket 775 motherboards.

I would suggest you look at AMD Processors for lower cost. Take a look at the following combination:

Phenom II 550 Dual-Core (3.1 gigahertz) Processor - $96 with shipping

GIGABYTE GA-MA78LM-S2H Motherboard - $63 with shipping

Better mobo, I think. AM3, DDR3, newer chipset.
