High Quality HDMI Card

Hi,

Does anyone know of a good quality HDMI graphics card?

I need to look as good as possible on a Optoma HD Projector. It travels via a HDMI to ethernet convertor to the projector. I have tried it with a £20 card and it worked but the text was slightly jumpy and out of focus. If we played a movie though it seemed to look a bit better but you expect that :)

So any ideas?

Many thanks
Joe

I have a 5870 and it looks really nice. But then again I just got it and it replaced an 8400gs pci card.

Wait you are converting the hdmi to ethernet before it goes to projector? There's your problem. Didn't even know it was possible but there's no way it could be good quality.

a 5870 for playing movies? what? OVERKILL! just go with something simple (maybe even in the hd 3xxx range). my onboard hd 3200 played bluray just fine. what are you looking for? what else are you doing (i.e. games)? what interface (agp, pci-e, etc.)? more information will help.

He probably bought the 5870 for gaming. Not to watch movies lol...

Oh sorry, I use mine for gaming and movies. Didnt realize it was overkill.

ok. i thought you were recommending it for movies. i was like "WHAT?" lol. but if he did do gaming then i would totally agree. i wish i had one... but i am satisfied with my 5770 (for now).

Well I shall prove you wrong there lol... I no alot about audio and video (have an audio and video studio) and my dad knows even more! (He saw the first HD screen before it was released or even thought about being released in 80's i think)

If you plug a PS3 into the projector Direct into projector via HDMI it is fantastic quality if its plugged via hdmi over Ethernet its exactly the same! If i do the same with the computer the hdmi direct is okish but over Ethernet isn't very good at all so I'd say because the graphics card is cheap its GPU or whatever isn;t very powerful.

So I need a decent card to do the job. It would be used on a video editing computer everything from Maya to Premier to Photoshop to DVD's to PowerPoint stuff (don't ask lol) but it has to look decent without the text jumping to much :)

Many thanks
Joe
