What GPU to get?

Hey all, not been on here in a while :P

Just wonderign what GPU should i get?

I was thinking of 2 x 5770's in Crossfire? or a single 5870?

I tend to play a lot of games and i do web design aswell

I have a budget of around £250

Please show me where you can get a 5870 for less than £250, I can't find any online

although the 2x5770 will probably cost more than a single 5850, they are more powerful. If I had your money, I would be going with them over a single 5850, even though 1 5850 has the upgradability of sticking a second one in there, once you have the money for a second, you will probably be able to sell on the 5770's to cover the costs of another 5850, so it will all work out the same :D

So true thanks for knocking some sense into me! haha

Im not sure but im going to wait till fermi is out then the 5*** series what drop rapidly in price especially with the release of the 5870 x2 :)

EDIT: This is where i can find the cheapest 5870! LINK :)
 
what's the point in that? higher clocks different name? I don't think they're going to do that xD, it's like making a gtx299 because it has higher clocks than the gtx295 xD

But isnt that what card series do? They go up in name as they release a better performing card..? In your case you just said it would be the 310 aka Fermi..
 
i would get dual 5770's. once better drivers come out (knock on wood) you can use six monitors without upgrading.

instead of naming it the 5870x2 they just called it the 5970 (don't ask me why :) ) when ever they released dual cards the clocks are always lower than the single version GTX275 HD4870 both have higher clocks than the dual version of them

and what i was saying if there going to release a higher clocked 5970 they will just call it an OCed version or something xD not a 5870x2
 
can i ask what game your 4890 cannot handle on high settings? because ive failed to find a game that does not run on very high settings with my 4890...its a beast.

But if you realy want a new GPU.....wait for the fermis but i think they will be very pricy!
