Corrupt system files

Hello all,

I was working on a computer with a virus infection not too long ago that blocked all http connections. After running some scans and (hopefully) clearing the virus, the internet still did not work. I ran sfc /scannow from cmd and it told me that it found some corrupt files but could not fix them. More information could be found in a text file it gave me called CBS.log, but I don't know how to interpret the file, does any of you?

I'll upload it as soon as I can, if now.

hi,
bootup windows from the cd/dvd and choose the repair mode.
but don't forget to backup your important data before.
;)

I agree with steve89.The REPAIR option from your Windows OS CD/DVD disk should fix the problems.

ADVICE: Always take care of your Windows OS CD/DVD disk because you never know when you are gonna need it :P

Cheers!

As I said, though, it's not my computer, just one I'm working on.

When booting off the Vista CD I thought there was only the option for startup repair? Not, like, all system files?

Are you referring to doing something like an in place upgrade?

The REPAIR option repairs all the Windows files...
