Yet another Mass Effect 2 Problem.

1. Cut scenes look low quality, and low res.
2. Random flicker of black on shepards head.

The pic of shepard really didn't show it good at all.

Tried a different monitor and the cut scene quality was still horrible. Driving me nuts because it makes no sense.
 
Hi, you have to find the right settings - gamma, color, resolution, look in the game settings/options.

For example, if your computer has 1240 x 1080 res. so you have to set the same resolution in the game.


however, what kind of PC and monitor do you have?

look at his sig ;)

make sure that your graphics drivers are fully updated.

Also, it isn't listed in your sig, but what PSU do you have? If it is low end, that could be causing the flicker because it isn't feeding your 295 enough power, and it would explain the crap looking cutscenes too
 
My monitors native res is 1920x1080, 25inch monitor. psu is a 700watt mach 1 KingWin. The bad cut scene quality makes 0 sense to me and has me lost, the weird flickering on the helmet only happens in certain parts of levels and always happens at them parts. And drivers a fully updated.
 
hmm, your Power supply should be safe and with drivers up to date, that should be good too.

you tried a full reinstall?
 
My guess would be, wait for the next NVidia driver update.
Tried turning the shadow quality down a bit?

but... but.. Mass Effect 2.. must go and buy. :D (for the xbox tough, since the first one played really nice on it too. ^_^ )

its not the pc, in the cutscenes at least. mine are also low quality, its just the way the videos are. im sure at a lower resolution they look great. i've also had a few issues with textures, particularly around eyes, and the illusive man's cigarretes seem to be going straight through his fingers. little odd stuff like that, but nothing big.

I figured the movies where just bad quality, but my res isn't the problem because i tried it on a lower res, and even on my other monitor which is only a 21inch. Maybe the pc version just got shit on.
 
Could it just maybe be the fact that it has been out a few days .'. there are bound to be a few problems. If there weren't what would the dev team do between games, no patches for them to do, it is like trying to divide by zero
