Hello,

I've just made a PC with www.alternate.nl (because i'm dutch) with some help from a friend.

But now, i just need to know 1 thing,
should i take the GeForce 9800GT or the GTS 250?

the GTS 250 is only 10 euros more.

9800 GT is 87,90 euro & 123.99 US dollar.
The GTS 250 is 97,90 euro & 138.10 US dollars.

So, Is it worth the 10 euros/ 14 dollar?

please tell me.

Gerben

get the gts 250. it is better. but if you can, go for a ATI 4850, better perfomance for the price. and they are about that price

Thanks alot!

but does the ATI 4850 fits with the other parts?

Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q8300 (CPU)
Antec TruePower New Series TP-650 (no idea what it's in english =s)
Asus P5N-D (motherboard)
Kingston ValueRAM 4 GB DDR2-800 (memory?)
Thermaltake Blue Orb II (CPU cooler)

if you need to know any other parts, tell me.

I'm pretty sure that the 4850 is supported by your computer, but if it's between the Geforce 9800 GT or GTS 250, go with the GTS 250. It's DEFINITELY more power for the price.

EDIT: I also saw that your motherboard supports SLI. If you plan to use that later on, than get an Nvidia card.

Get a GTS 250, overall its a better card then the 4850.

The GTS 250 and the HD 4850 are almost the same price.

So if it would be between the GTS 250 and the HD4850, which one should i choose? is the HD4850 really better?

The 4850 is better, but your motherboard supports SLI, which is a technology that lets two Nvidia cards of the same model run together as one. It's fairly cost-effective to do that later on, when its price has come down, rather than buy a whole new card. So, in this case, the GTS 250 is the better option.

ATI does have a similar technology called Crossfire, but it isn't supported on Nvidia chipsets like yours.

edit: Woo 500 posts! I have a little red square now! :D

4850 vs gts 250

4850 wins it but, not by much

The only thing for you to decide is if the price difference is worth the "small" leap

Are you looking at gaming benchmarks or 3dmark which is basically just synthetic benchmark ?

GTS 250 performed better than HD4850 in crysis, Fallout 3(when AA and AF are not off) and world in conflict

In left 4 dead they performed on par (except at 1920x1200 resolution which not many people play at that resolution). In Burnout Paradise, HD4850 performed better only when SSAO is enabled
