No case, HDD, or OS needed.
It is meant to be a mid-range gaming/compiling rig.
Would like to keep it around that price, lower the better.
Please also note this is

Total: $837.00 about.
Edit: Do not need a GPU included either, but looking at a 200-300 gtx depending upon prices, in the future.
I'm said 'friend'. Thanks for posting for me 'Bacon'

.
I was going to start a new thread but figured I might as well bump this one.
Lets start off fresh.
My current computer is awful, see specs below.
HDD:
http://www.superwarehouse.com/Maxto...B_Hard_Drive/6Y120P0/ps/193160]Maxtor 6Y120P0
CPU:
Intel P4 520 2.8Ghz
RAM: Apparently Hyundai makes it. One 512 piece was rinsed off in water after being outside in -35C for two days.
MOBO: Asus i915. Not much more info I can get on it.
Video Card: 8600 GTS, will do for now.
OS: Windows xp 32bit.
PSU: 460W Enermax(EG465 FMA2)
Case: Not sure, missing a side panel, all the SLI backport covers and most the CD drive covers on the front. Probably going to get an Antec 200 for 50$.
Someone just lost some dignity. Yup.
My main concern is buying parts that will be quickly outdated, or Incompatible with new technology that will be coming out in the future.
From where I'm sitting AMD is pretty far behind in the processor market, and I wouldn't be surprised if they come out with something to compete with Intel. It would suck to buy the processor listed above and a couple months later AMD releasing an entirely new line of processors up to par/better than Intel. I know I probably sound like an idiot, and I apologize, but it only makes sense.
The Video card is fine for now, I only play two games; A modded version of BF2 called Project Reality, and WoW. When I update my gfx card I will definitely be getting a dx11 card + Buying Windows 7... Then buying Bad Company 2

.
At this point I'm pretty sure the performance increase of anything I buy will be more than noticeable. This makes me uneasy as I won't be able to tell if I've made a good/bad purchase.
I'm not employed at the moment but I will hopefully apprentice as an electrician within the next month. Waiting and saving up is the obvious choice, but I've been using this computer for more than 3 years and I'm getting impatient

.
Edit: Will an ATI 57xx+ fit inside an Antec 200 case? Or is that another issue I should look into.
Edit2: My HDD is getting cyclic redudancy check errors all over the place. Better get a new HDD before this one eats itself.
