BootMgr is Missing.

I don't think he can get in cmd since he can't boot up...

If you have an installation DVD hanging around, jsut boot off it, go to the terminal (I think you had to go to the repair mode to do this - not repair install, however), and /fixboot & possibly /fixmbr.

I meant with the HDD atached to another PC..
Sorry for not telling the entire idea..

Thanks for the replies but I have also tried fixboot fixmbr and chkdsk.

I cannot attach the hard drive to my pc as it is a laptop hard drive, sorry for not stating earlier.

Looks like a clean install.

The connectors on 2.5" SATA drives are identical to those of their desktop counterparts. So if it's SATA, your normal SATA power and data cable you use for desktop drives will work just fine.

Oh man this problem happened to me few times and last time it was 2 days ago xD.Anyway its really easy to fix this. But first lets make few things clear just in case :D :

-The Windows REPAIR process wont help here because the REPAIR process repairs ONLY the Windows OS and NOT the BOOT SECTOR (MBR)

-The CHKDSK can be run from your Windows OS DVD or CD,but that wont help either because that just corrects bad secotrs in your file system and NOT the BOOT SECTOR (MBR)

-The FIXMBR and FIXBOOT in 95% cases do NOT help here unforcenately even if you completely rebuild the entire MBR...

Now to the solution:

The BOOT SECTOR is the thing that is loaded immediately after the BIOS has been fully loaded up and that BOOT SECTORS tells what the computer is supposed to do after loading the BIOS and in this case it is supposed to load the Windows OS.The BOOT SECTOR is created the moment you choose the partition on which you want to install Windows OS.Now...to fix your problem, all you have to do is by using Linux Ubuntu 9.04 OS copy your entire HDD on some other USB HDD for example, then using your Windows OS CD or DVD disk delete ALL the partitions, create the new one, format it and then install Windows OS on it.After that fresh Windows OS installation is finished, delete it by using again the Linux Ubuntu 9.04 OS and then copy your entire old Windows OS from that USB HDD back to your computer's HDD.Then just shut down the computer by simply using the Linux Ubuntu 9.04 shut down option and take out its CD when it prompts, close the tray and then click ENTER when it says. After your computer is completely shutted down, remove the USB HDD and turn on your computer again and VIOLA!

Cheers!
