After installing Windows 7, no internet connectivity

I recently installed Windows 7 on my daughter's PC. Now I cannot log on to the internet. When I try to trouble shoot, it asks to go online to microsoft and becomes a circular troubleshooting exercise.

The computer is a Dell Dimension 8200 Desktop.

It worked fine before with Win XP so I know that it is capable.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dell doent recommend that you use windows 7 in your computer.:

Probably because there isnt any drivers for your harwdare (including your network card)
When ever you install a windows in a computer, you usually need to install
some small programs that tells windows how to control and use some parts in your computer (windows allready got some with him but doesnt have them all..).
So only after having those programs installed you can use them..
Hope that helps with your problem

Thank-you!

I figured it was a driver issue. Is there a way to retrieve the drivers from my other PC (online) and put on the one in question?

If the other computer is the same model and has the same windows on it then yes.
Download this program and backup the drivers in question in the other PC and acess the device manager in this PC and update the hardware that you want to load with the new drivers and point him to the backed up drivers.
