Ok so I'm using newegg to build a PC. I want one that'll be good for gaming but it doesn't have to be the best.

Right now I've selected

-$61.99

Which totals about 738 bucks. Can you help me by telling me if these parts are compatable or a cheap way I can build a pc that's good for gaming yet cheap? I would appreciate it very much. Im pretty computer savvy but this is the first pc ive built.. just dont wanna mess it up

Change motherbard to GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P

and your CPU to also a Quad-Core, but different model - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition

everything else looks fine.

The 940 isnt a AM3 processor. Plus DDR2 will not work with the motherboard. With a AM3 board you need a AM3 processor and DDR3

If you want a BE model, change it to this one.

Change the memory to DDR3 1600

Eveything else looks ok, but you dont have a power supply

Change motherbard to GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P

and your CPU to also a Quad-Core, but different model - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition

everything else looks fine.

That board is lower end board for a BE upperend model processor, no cooling on the mosfets, can cause problems. Plus the memory he had picked out will not work on a AM3 board.

* • AMD Athlon™II X2 245 CPU
* • Asus M4A78LT-M LE AM3 MB
* • 4GB DDR3/1600MHz RAM
* • 500GB SATA-II 7200RPM HDD
* • NVIDIA 210 512MB Video
* • LG 22X DVD±/±RW Drive
* • High Definition 7.1 Sound
* • Windows 7 Home Premium
* • CoolerMaster Elite 310 Case

Is that good?

You could always just use onboard sound and beef up the gpu a bit more. I am working on my first build right now.

If your getting the power supply mentioned above. You could always just leave it open to crossfire in the future. I am only buying a single gpu at first as well.
