Wii Remote on PC Won't Work

So I've read pretty much every online guide on connecting the Wii Remote to a PC, but I can't get it to work on mine. I have the bluetooth dongle which I connect my bluetooth keyboard and mouse to, but whenever I try to connect the remote the lights keep flashing and whenever I use either Glovepie or Wiinremote it just doesn't read any info from the remote. I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong. Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?
 
have you tried wiindows?

Not sure if it is still going, I just googled it to see if I couldn't find a link, but there must be one somewhere for it

I'm pretty sure that it's not the software, since it never really gets fully connected. The software just attempts to access it but never actually gets a real signal. Could it have something to do with the remote itself? I might try it with my second remote and see if it makes a difference.

That is because it is for the Wii :P
