Ram in AMD platform

There is no such thing as amd based ram or intel based ram. As long as the motherboard supports the ram, it will work.

Granted their might be some truth to their claims that it would run better with an i5 system, but RAM is RAM. Like johnb35 said, just make sure it's compatible w/ your motherboard.

But from the reviews I read, it looks like a pretty solid set of memory that is easy to overclock.

The only thing i would worry about is it being dual channel or tripple channel. you don't want to buy tripple channel DDR3 when you have a daul channel system.

ok thanks, it just got me a bit worried when it says made for the intel i5 and
i7. I presume the only difference with this RAM being in an intel motherboard or AMD motherboard is just i don't get to use the XMP support in the AMD platform and there will be no difference in performance whatsoever?

Thanks

There are differences in ram as far as some are more overclockable then others. I'm not a ram specialist but I know to get the best performance you need 1 to 1 ratio with the processor so like if you have a processor that runs at 800mhz then you need memory that runs at 800mhz and so on and so forth. Maybe someone else will chime in. There is no definate amd or intel based ram. It's all compatible with each other as long as the motherboard supports it.

If your board has an unlinked overclocking mode, you should use it. that way you can raise your FSB and RAM speeds seperately.

The only problem is that the FSB and RAM speeds will only be exact at certain frequencies. (example, i run my cpu at 1450FSB, and my RAM at 900mhz. but the RAM will only run at 896Mhz, unless i raise the speed a little more.)

thanks for the info, my main concern though wasn't running the RAM at certain frequencys to achieve the most performance i wanted to make sure i made the right decion in going with this RAM over the 1600MHz on that corsair sell which says it was ment for the AMD phenom.

if someone could tell me the difference that you would see from running this RAM in an intel and AMD motherboard as it says its for the intel i5 that would be great as i'm not sure if i made the right choice as i bearly see anyone with this RAM in an AMD motherboard.
