My Graphics Card Problem

Well.
I have just installed the latest Windows 7 x64 Nvidia Driver to my MSI Geforce 8800GTX. and i am in the middle of playing Half Life 2 Episode 2, and suddenly in mid game my computer shut off. no "Windows is shutting down" or anything. Just suddenly gone. I had a history of this a while back and determined it was my graphics card overheating. The driver i had before was a Windows 7 default and i had no problems. I dont really want to revert back to that because the new driver has a lot more resoloutions and runs my games better (when it is actually running). I seem to notice that it fails at around 80 C but can vary sometimes. but it idles at around 60 C
Games it crashes on that i have experianced are as follows:
Half Life 2 Episode 2
The Sims 3
Fallout 3
Crysis
S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky

Any Possible Fix?

AAAHHHGGGG!!!!!

i had the same problem. it happened right after i updated my drivers. there is some bug where it never speeds up the fan when the temps go up.

i used MSI AFTERBURNER to make a chart of when to kick up the fan speed

ahh i see. so does MSI Afterburner speed the fan up when it needs to?

there is a little chart with fan speed and tempurature and you have to drag the little dots to where you want them. i have it set so when it reaches 55c the fan goes to 60%, 60c it goes to 80% and 65c it goes to 100%. it has never gone over 56c
