Can a Quadro4 XGL play mid-level games?

I won't be building my new rig for a while, as my finds have been significantly reduced, so I'm looking to spend a little bit and buy a "new" graphics card for this one. The best one I've seen in the benchmarks that's in my price range (~$20) has been the Quadro4 500/700/900 XGL line...mainly the 700. Here's the passmark page:

Would this be able to play stuff like Source-based games and MMO's? Maybe Oblivion or something? I don't need high settings...I'd be happy with 800x600 on near-minimum as long as I can get a decent frame rate and have character models with enough clarity that I can tell what I'm shooting at.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the Nvidia Quadro series cards are not meant for gaming, only for workstation uses like 3d modeling, right? I read somewhere that they got poor frame rates in games because of this. But that wouldn't make sense, though, since they get great passmark scores. Idk if I'm right or not, so don't make a decision on it until someone else can confirm if I'm correct.

EDIT: Nevermind, found this link on Google: http://www.techimo.com/forum/graphics-cards-displays/167319-play-games-quadro-card.html

They are the same as their geforce counterparts, just with some extra features. Anything a Geforce can do, a Quadro can do as well.

The problem is, I don't know what chipset these are based off of, so I don't know how good the performance will be or what software it will support. I'm hoping for DX9 at least.

I'm not so sure about that.... I don't know about the Quadro4s, but I know that the Geforce4s could only do DX7 and DX8.

AFAIK The Quadro4 XGL models are a bit newer than the Geforce4's. Some intense google searching has turned up the TI-series, but I don't know which ones.

You're right though....DX8. Think I could get away with it?

IDK, man. They don't get Passmark scores that are too bad, but with DX8.... Do you think that there will be any games that the card doesn't have full support for?

^ I have AGP :(

If it can max Halo, then I'll be happy. That means it'll probably play most Source-based games and similar stuff.

Really? That's actually pretty impressive...I wouldn't have expected a netbook to do a whole lot more than my current one.

Think I'll be ok with DX8? Source can run on that, right?

yes it can, but it will look like arse compared to today's graphics :P

It should run fine. My olf ibm system had an "Intel Extreme Graphics 2 82865G"

CSS was a slideshow.

A bit of googling revealed that that graphics chip used DirectX 6.0.... the first directx where characters could jump!
