What can i say? WOW :D

5 days old news yeah,But....

Virgin Media is to launch a commercial 100Mbit/s broadband service later this year, and has plans to trial a 200Mbit/s service.

Not sure how fast you guys across the pond have internet access, probably alot faster than ours, especialy in the US... but atm 50mbit/ps is the highest ive seen some Internet service provders offer,I actualy done a trial for Virgin media on their 50mbit/ps line when it first was launched and its was so fast but it was too much at £50 a month

Whats your thoughts? I hate to see the pricing of this.:D

damn. with that amount of money, that could only get you a 12mbps connection here which is the fastest one in this country. and people who have it said they don't even get near the max speed. i'm paying $20 for a 1.5mbps connection. i hate this country. lol

It will only be available for like 5% of users, since the majority of the exchanges are from 1970's, they can barely handle 8MB.

I am paying 45 quid for 8mb and 110GB usage. Speeds never drop, and latencies are the best you can get in UK, fast.co.uk!

mate your getting ripped off! I pay £35 for 20Mb Unlimited ....no download restrictions...and i get what i pay for....around 18-19mbits/ps most of the time....ping is quite good aswell in games.

Virgin media XL package.

I dunno,It could be because i live close to the exchange but its very good.

9:45 at night...still no slowdowns, the only downfall is the Upload, its horrible..But id rather have fast downloads speeds.

My exchange is only 8MB, I used to be with virgin for like a year, My pings were 5 times bigger then they are now, I couldnt play any online games. I don't mind paying extra money for a good service.

I believe that they are also saying a very small amount will be able to get 200Mbps...

Bt came out with a statement that made me lol ...

A BT spokesman said: "Virgin are playing catch-up as customers are already using 100Mbps over BT's network. It is fair to say we are bigger than them and we are growing faster too."
(from BBC Technology)

Can someone tell me where you can get BT 100Mbps broadband!? lol

I currently have £5 (plus line rental) with Sky 8Mbps and its rubbish, I have phoned them up so many times and half their support team doesn't even know how their network works!! I know more than a lot of them about it!

I had 2Mbps Virgin at uni and I got 19ms on a CoD4 server, same server on my sky I get between 60 and 90 on a good day.

You can get 10Gb/s lines from BT if you're willing to pay the premium...

Maybe Virgin could sort their overcrowding before going after headline figures? Although the chance of them doing that is 76987598589907 * 0.

I'll bet getting a 24mbps service with 40gb a month for $40 AUD a month soon :D

It's only me, my dad and stepmum, they only get music off itunes and stuff so the rest is for youtube... and steam games ;)

I have 20mb Virgin Media XL package - unlimited downloads . Speed is ok but dont think the 100mb or 200mb will be available in my area soon. I dont think the 50mb service is available where i am at the moment either.

yeah Grand Rapids (somewhere around 30 miles from me) might get that Google high speed(I hope they do xD) 1 gbps is freakin insane and I'm moving there once I'm done with school! :D
