Okay got supreme commander 2 today yay yay rushed home to go play on it, then realised its through steam, i mean what the hell whats the point. Okay a few stupid updates and restarting steam later steam starts updating the game which for some reason is downloading at a ridiculously slow speed through steam, im now sitting here waiting for steam to finish downloading when i could be playing the game. IMO i hate steam, complete waste of time good idea but doesn't work just prevents you from playing a game it forces you to go through steam first. Anyway im slightly pissed off about it.

What do you guys think of steam? :P

lmao computer forum should start a petition to ban steam :P i bet wed get loads of people signing it XD

Steam is a good idea but they need better servers. I mean we are in the broadband age if our speeds don't exceed 1mb+ its just nor worth it.

Though I prefer hard copies of my games.....I can make backups etc and while steam can do this as well what it can't do is let me friends borrow it for the weekend :P

Steam FTW....i love the thing,easy...updates your games, brilliant customer support.

i admit my internet is being unusually slow atm but still, id rather just play the game without having to install an update that could have waited until my internet was working again :) i even tried it in offline mode and that didnt work ):

I love steam, don't have to go find a gamestop to buy games. I downloaded Battlefield Bad Company 2 in like 30 minutes and MW2 in like 15!

My baddddd, I didnt see it in new releases, and in the search box I typed Bad copmany xD No wonder I didnt find it.

P.S. Anyone know how can I test to see if my rig will play this game at decent settings? apart from torrent of course.

You need to configure your internet connection type in steam, then you apply it and restart. if you select the wrong one or don't configure it then it downloads slow. ;)

Wait BF2 or BC2?

Love steam, it is just so easy to find a game and download it through steam. Plus you got the whole friends chat while in-game as well. It updates all your games, well the ones you have through steam and you can add non steam games to it so you can use the chat with that as well.

It is just the games that make you go through steam if you buy the actual disk, unless it's a valve game then yea they should do that.
