Need a recommendation

Have a customer with a P-4 631 CPU on an older 775 MB with 2 Gb ram that does not support duel core or core 2 CPU.

Despite telling him he needs to update his MB he doesn't want to do that. What he does want is to improve graphic capability.

Given that his current config will support 4x/8x AGP or PCI, has no onboard vid.

He has an Nvidia 6600 GT in there now. I'm not a GPU guru by any means other than the basics.

What can I find that will have better performance than the 6600 and stay under about $60 or so?

Okay thanks. Guess I'll have to tell him that speed in this regard costs.

Question, so how do they rate against Nvidia?

I know the Nvidia line fairly well and are pretty familiar with the performance curve. But ATI, other than some of the older series cards, not so much. I hear a lot of talk about ATI but have very little practical/game experience other than setting them up.

Since I'm personally a very light gamer (if I told you what I play you would laugh, think along the lines of Duke Nukem, Doom 2 and a couple of WW 2 flight games). I haven't had to go as in depth with it.

If someone could point out a comprehensive comparison chart it would be a great help.

The GDDR2 4650's are dogs compared to ddr3 or 4.

I would just get this 3650-

And it's a good brand name, Sapphire.

schw32m- Nvidia just doesn't make too many AGP cards anymore. But this 3650 would probably be about the equivalent of an 8600gt.

I knew the AGP line was lacking that is why I put the question out there. I actually have a 6600 in one of my servers, but that was the last AGP I bought. So I was sort of surprised when this one came in with a 6600 in it..
