Putting passwords on word and excel

excel

Its not too hard to password protect a document. But what version of MS Office Excel & Word are you using? You didn't say.

If you protect it with a password, then both you and the person that is going to read it have to have the password. Unless your just doing it for your own use, say for a financial document. Just dont forget the password! ha ha

I think it is Excel and Word 2007, could be 2003 though.

If I can't remember the password, but i delete the whole say Word file i guess the password protection can't stop me deleting the file.

As long as the file is password protected, you won't be able to delete it without the password as well.

That's the whole point of protecting a document, you can't open it, modify it, move it or delete it and so on.

With Word/Excel 2007 click the Office button, click prepare, click encrypt document and enter a password.

Encryption does not work well. but close and for most people. i have played lately. and one proggy is right now an BAM. i was testing. requested a player to create the meanest, badest, uppercase, lowercase password with numbers and letters and took about a second. then again Zip and Rar don't make no diff. cant believe some the the software that is out there.
