Virus messes up motherboard?

2 people I know came to me saying they have a virus. After I have successfully removed them, when I did a reboot I get a blank screen like I have a dead motherboard. The programs I use to remove the viruses where SuperAntiSPyware, Malwarebytes, and Avast. Nothing appears to be suspicious when I ran hijackthis.

Is there a known virus that does this?

I see the bios screen, then when trying to load HDD I get a blank screen.

Just now, windows began to work. Don't know what happen. I don't want to turn it off, might get the same error. Before I checked the wiring and nothing is loose.
