Keeping Laptop Private From Administrator?

Hey! I don't know if this is the right forum to post in (I've never visited this site before), but I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem.

I go to a high school where every student has a laptop (a Tablet PC). I always knew that our Technology Department could watch our screens while we were at school (which I've figured out how to disable), but I just was told that they can view our internet history as far back as when we got our computer. They can even see the history if it's deleted. Apparently they've been looking at students' histories, showing them to teachers, etc.

This seems like a little too much Big Brother for me. Does anyone have any ideas of how I could change any settings so this would be impossible for them? I don't know too much about how they access our computers (they use Dyknow to watch our screens), and I don't know if I've given enough information.

Thanks so much everybody!

Here's the simple solution: Don't misuse the tablet. If you wana look at the pr0nz then use a personal computer. The school system owns the tablet, so they have every right to do that.

I assume they gave you the tablet, so stop doing stupid crap on it. I'm sure if they felt like it they will either take it away from you or will just reimage it. Listen to voyager

Use an external (USB) dvd burner and format the drive, reinstall your O/S and bam, no big brother crap...

I absolutely despise what they do. they can spy on you from your own home with the webcams in there.

You can't do that because it breaks the EULA of the school.

They own the computers, and they are responsible for what you view when using their network and equipment, especially during school hours. There is nothing wrong with that. To the OP however, chances are the school administrators have better things to do then to check everyone's history daily.

I think it's more of a federal case then simply breaking school rules.

You could always use Firefox portable on a thumb drive. It should leave no trace on the tablet as far as I know.
If I'm wrong others will chime in.

Since this is most likely in direct violation of an agreement that was more than likely signed when you "borrowed" the laptop from the school, this thread is closed.
