I sure hope one of experts can help me out here.
About a year ago I made the decision to build my on computer as a way to save money. Obviously, since I didn't want to spend a ton of money I bought a barebones case (came with the PSU and motherboard) and hoped it would turn out alright.
It worked flawlessly, up until the past Sunday, which is when an 8600GT that a friend gave me died without warning. Now, I'm not 100% sure of the card is dead or if the PCI-E slot went bad though I would assume that there would be some type of alert or error presented when I powered on the PC.
The 8600GT has four(4) popped capacitors so I'm going with that the card went bad. Now I talked to a friend over AIM and he told me that the PSU might be the issue since it sounded like a "piece of junk".
So, my plan is to replace it and the video card but as google has shown me, not all PSUs are the same size, which is why I' hoping you guys can tell which size I need to get.
I took some pictures of both the card and the PSU (though I'll only link to the PSU): http://i39.tinypic.com/2j4suhg.jpg
I don't know if the image helps but I'm really hoping It's the same size as this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817339012
Since newegg is running a combo promotion on that and a Radeon HD 4350 for $53.98 which is about all I can afford right now.
-Thanks in advance!
