SATA 1 HDD slave to SATA 2

Hi

I know that you can use a SATA2 HDD on a motherboard that supports SATA1. But can you use both a SATA 2 and a SATA1 HDD (slaved) ?

Im thinking of getting the SATA 1 HDD but the SATA 2 HDD is cheaper and better :/

Yes you can use both a SATA I and II. SATA drives are not Mastered or Slaved.

you can use a sata 2 h/d on a motherboard that only supports sata 1 but it will only operate at 150 MB/s not the sata 2 h/d rate of 300 MB/s

Yep, but as of now not many spinning hard drives can actually saturate SATA 1 limits.
