Downloading refers solely on your internet connection, he may just have a faster service. Do you know what the speeds of your connection are?

says up to 10 Mbps download speed and up to 512 Kbps upload speed

depends aswell on where you are getting the movies from. If you are getting it from a slower server the server may be limiting you

If you want to check the speed you are actually getting for upload and download check it here

2.19 is your CPU clock speed. The only way to speed that up is to overclock your system in your BIOS ( you'll have to ask somebody else how to do it ) - or replace the CPU altogether.

IMHO - Your internet connection is giving your slow D/L speed - not your PC. You need a high speed connection - or the source you are downloading from needs to have a faster transfer rate.

Are you on a dial up - or high speed internet connection?

I'm on high speed how do you change the CPU speed does anyone know? Thanks

There are things to consider before getting straight into overclocking. You should have sufficient cooling for your CPU in your case; otherwise you risk permanent damage to components from overheating :) In my case, the slightest increase in clock speed caused my system to crash after a few hours due to instability.

I'm pretty sure this dude's got an OEM computer...no overclocking.

TS, Is your computer a brand-name one, like Dell or HP?

Suggesting to someone who asks "what is my harddrive size" to overclock is a bad idea anyway. No offense kidas1, but overclocking can damage your computer if you don't know what you're doing.

Since download speed has nothing to do with your CPU, overclocking doesn't solve your original question anyway.

I agree.

As has been said by a few people already, a 10Mbps connection is fairly fast but if you notice downloads are slow it's either your connection isn't fast enough (possible if you are on a shared connection) or the place you are downloading from doesn't have a fast enough upload speed.

Overclocking your computer will not help in either of these cases.
