microsoft security essential ,,pls help

guys,

the microsoft security essential anti virus is it compatible for xp professional, can i download it on it?
what is the genuine web link I can dowload it from ?

also on my xp professional i got avast so far. should i want to change to micr. security essent. do i have to uninstall avast 1st and the install the micr. security essential after?
is it true the microsoft security essential can be downloaded without the need to be connected to the internet?and if its the case do u suggest me to dowload it while i am off line to avoid the risk if catching possible viruses or malware activity??

i have xp pro and use it. heres the link: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
and you have to be connected to download it. just go directly there and you will be fine

oh and it should matter if you install it or uninstall avast first. just make sure you do uninstall avast eventually, as there is no need for more than one security program that do the same things

You should never install an antivirus while one is already installed. Not doing so can cause issues while installing the new one. Always uninstall the old program before installing the new program. Disconnect from the internet if you have to while you have no antivirus installed.
