IP address

I have an HP JetDirect J6035b. Every time i go to look at the IP address it changes...could this be because of power being lost to the print server or is there something else?

It's normal that IP address changes every now and then. If it's working don't worry, it is safety thing
I found out from HP's site that it has something to do with firewall, if there is no firewall the IP won't change.

The thing is though if it's like me, it can stop the printer from working, then you gotta reconfigure your ports.

In any case, if you don't want it to keep changing, go into the printer configuration page and assign it a static IP address.

Sounds like it's setup with DHCP. If you don't want the IP to change set a static IP.
