Laptop to TV

Hi, so I bought a 2 cables on eBay to hook up my laptop to my big screen TV.
Unfortunately, one of the cables that I bought, doesn't work. I bought a VGA-HDMI cable, which I thought I could plug the VGA into my laptop and the HDMI into the TV, but this didn't work. I read up on it, and understand that it doesn't work quite like this.

So, here is my question. How do I do it? Here are all of the ports I have on my laptop and TV:

Laptop:
VGA
S-Video (7 pin)
USB (don't think this one matters though)

TV:
Video 1 and 2: with yellow, red, white, and s-video (4 pin)
HDMI in/Audio in (red/white)

I also have a cable that goes from a 3.5mm jack to go into my computer that splits into a red and white connector, which I heard is RGA. Not positive on that, but I can get my iPod music to play on the TV.

So, what cord do I need to buy? I already know that I have NO dvi port, but will willingly buy an adapter if need be. I have an eBay account so if you can get it there, perfect.

Your TV doesn't have a VGA port on it?

The only other thing you could do is get a coax -> S-Video cable.

This:

Generic 7-PIN S-Video to RCA Composite Connection - 1.99 from AxionTech.com

Plus the 3.5mm-to-RCA audio cable should get you up and running. ;)

Alright, so the S-video port would plug into my laptop, and then the other end into my TV? I am looking on ebay (because shipping was 10 bucks on that site) and don't know an equivalent connector cable. I would VERY MUCH appreciate if you could do a quick search on eBay and find a same cord that would work

is that it?
