If i have a great monitor and a decent video card

if i have an intergraded video card on my pc, would it be even worth it to get a monitor with a high contrast ratio? Or is that more so for people with high end video cards? Don't wanna waste my $ and get a good monitor if my computer can't even send HD signal to it.
 
I don't know what you mean by 50:000 contrast but most monitors with insanely high marketed contrast is a gimmick. On the original note, integrated video will be able to run any monitor just fine as long as you don't play games.

Integrated video will be able to run on any monitor, but it might not look great.
A lot of integrated gpu's will have a maximum resolution that they can support.
 
It will look the same on any graphics card, that is if it supports the resolution. Keep in mind that you can't play games or do anything gpu intensive what so ever.

he means 50,000 to 1 contrast. and its not a gimmick at all. my monitor has 50,000 to 1 contrast JUST like dell said. people exaggerate but thats straight up false advertising if it doesnt perform like that.

There's no such thing as 50k : 1 constant contrast ratio. Everyone markets dynamic contrast ratio and IMO it looks like shit. I turned it off immediately on my monitor.
