Need help - 2DDR RAM upgrade

I want to upgrade my ram and see if it helps some with a program I'm having problems with. My computer:

Installed RAM: 512 MB
Max Supported RAM: 4 GB
Supported RAM speeds: 533 MHz


I need to know what RAM to buy.

But I can't find any 4 GB probably because this computer is a few years old.

I found this but theres no indication this 4 GB would fit in my computer:

I think that the ram that you posted may be laptop memory. So that will not work.

this will tell you what you have and what will be compatible for an upgrade.

Doesnt seem like there are much that size and amount in stock.

You could just get DDR2 667 cheaper, it will just back clock to 533.

Are you sure any of those on that page will work because I can go ahead and order.

I have very very low skill in the hardware part of computers. I have replaced rams and drives maybe a couple times my whole life. Most of it is plug and go these days thankfully. I'm a little better than the average person on software; I can make a computer bogged down by garbage as fast as the day it was purchased.

No reason why the memory would not back clock to 533. DDR2 667 probably has SPD/JEDEC setting back to 400. But there is a small chance that the board bios wont cooperate.

Is there a simple way to check

1. If my system is 32 bit or 64 bit (its prob 32)

2. How much of the 4 gb ram it will recognize (3 or 3. something from what i'm reading)
