counter strike ruins your vision?

i have played coutner strike for a while....well...a long time ago.
cuz when i played it, it seemed that my eye sight seem to decrease, everything was so,so unsmooth! like, not blurry but kinda stripey.
anyway, the cs im talking about is cs 1.6.
i have played whit 32-bit but still ruins my vision.
so far, i dont advise anyone to play cs 1.6 if they care about their eyesight much like i do.
 
Uhh, do you play hours on end without giving your eyes a rest? I'm sure all video games will degrade your eyesight if you don't rest your eyes.

nah I don't think that is true. I've been playing games for hours a day for the last lots of years and still have perfect vision
 
I am short sighted, i wasn't before. However, me and my dad have short sightedness. Also, when i wear his glasses my vision is perfect so i'm not blaming computer games...

gunna get my eyes test and get glasses. :(

Some people's eyes are better than others. Still, if you glue your eyes to a TV/computer screen for long durations it's bad for them.

I'm not evidence for that.

If they ever do start getting bad, I'm not exactly going to be upset either. I'll be a few quid out of pocket to get a pair of glasses, but so what. I quite like the look of glasses :P
 
There's probably a few potential brain surgeon's, that have missed their calling because of the endless hour's of gaming they participated in.....just saying
 
the only times my eyes start hurting from a computer is when looking at an internet browser on a big hdtv from a distance of 7-10 feet or greater. i don't think my eyes are quite good as they used to be (at one time i was like 15/20 in both eyes but am now 20/20) but that is in no way due to games. i agree with aastii, i like the look of glasses.
 
It's been proven that playing FPS games actually improves your eyesight - not that it's detrimental to them.

well, yeah in one way it does.
cuz ur looking everywhere and u need fast reactions ect.
tho, depens that what kind of a graphics that game has, otherwise the only thing thats gonna get :gun: is your eyesight lol.

i'd have thought if there was any kind of truth behind this, it would be the opposite way around. With older games, yea they don't look as good, but the things you are shooting are big and blocky and easier to see.

with modern games where you can stealth in dark or ghillie suits or whatever else and can see enemies from far off, you would have to straight your eyes more to see the smaller, minute details

Pretty sure staring at a monitor for 2+ hours ruins your eyesight more then the game itself.


I am hoping I die before I go to far down hill so keeping my fingers crossed I go before the rest of my body does :P

As far as CS goes, it's more commonly known for sexual harassment rather than vision degradation...
 
You know what really hurts your eyes? Those stupid 3D Movies like Avatar or Alice in Wonderland.
