Home networking?

Hey all,
I'm moving into my new house soon, and need to update my network architecture, as we now have Cat5 in the walls. This is a basic question, but should I get a router, a switch, or a hub, to connect all the Cat5's together, and then plug my DSL modem/router to that?
Thanks!

It depends on how many data outlets you will be using.

Most broadband routers have 4 ethernet outlets so if you are planning on using 4 or less then just get a router. Any more than 4 and you will need a switch or a hub.

Get 1 router and a switch, you don't want to complicate things by using multiple routers.

And to clarify, yes you need a router AND a switch. A switch won't function without it.
