Hello, I am going to upgrade my computer, but need some help deciding on a GPU, i currently have a 9800GT, looking to upgrade to a GT260, Is it worth the Jump?, i hear that the GT260 will Rape the 9800gt :P ,

Also i have a AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+, Upgrading to AMD Athlon™2 X4 Quad Core 620 2600MHz AM3 CPU

WIll this be a Big jump?, i dont want to have a Overkill PC, But a Somewhat decent Gaming Setup,

Thanks in advance,

P.S., Running Win7, i also have 4GB Ram, Possibly going up to 6GB with 64 bit wondows

Yeah going from a 9800GT to a GTX 260 is a pretty good upgrade. Better make sure your power supply can handle it. Since your running a X2 6000, better make sure your board supports the Athlon II 620.

Overall the GTX 260 is the fastest card. The 5770 can barely hang on to a 4870. Where a 4870 is slightly slower overall then a GTX 260. The 5770 beats the 4870 in some benchmarks. But the 4870 wins most.

Alittle more for a 5830

Power supplies, you can run any of those card with a quality 550W supply. But I would want one with alittle overhead.

Sonething like a 650W Corsair/Silverstone/Antec/XClio or even a BFG/Cooler Master/OCZ/Mushkin

ok thanks, can you recomend a Cheap power pack?, As i am not one to know all about different specs and so on, also, the 5770 has GDDR5?, and the GTX260 has GDDR3?, is there much of a differnce?, also, There is a GTX260 Black edition?, I dont know what it means but im guessing it makes it more Powerfull or more Available to Overclock or somthing?

Doesnt mean much as far as the GDDR5 with the 5770, its only 128 bit memory. The GDDR3 on the GTX 260 is 448 bit.

By power pack, do you mean power supply?

Depends on the GTX 260 your looking at. Before I would spend 200 bucks on one (not worth 200 bucks), I would go ahead and get a 5830

The 5770 is better than the 4870 and roughly equal with the GTX 260 now. The newer drivers always help. Must have read an old review.

A 5830 is a good option as well.

Second time I have asked for benchmarks to back that up. I have owned both. Well really, all three.

I recently purchased a computer upgrade from CyberPowerPc.com.
But before doing so, I researched graphics cards ad nauseum...
I found that the ATI 5850 was the best deal. People are saying that it beats out the GTX295 in Crysis 2 (framerate) and when it comes to Dual 5850's and Dual 5870's, the Dual 5850's are 1 point lower that the 70's. If I were you, I would go ahead of the curve and get the 5850.
