i have the computer mentioned above and when i am on it doing school work it seem the left side were the fans is gets really hot, is there anything i can do to keep it running cooler, i am in an open area on the table. about 10 months old

My laptop seems to run pretty hot as well. Is it how enough to where if you put it on your lap it is uncomfortable? That is when you should worry.
 
looks like that's a C2D T8x00, correct? I know those tend to run rather warm in most any laptop. That plus age (dust and too much crap on the HD) means a very warm lap. The system could probably use a good (physical) cleaning, some new thermal paste, and a clean install of Windows. While this wouldn't completely solve the heat issue, it'd probably help a great deal.

As for cooling pads, I wouldn't bother. Few of them really help that much. If anything, get one of those things you put on your lap and set the laptop on (fanless ones) It doesn't help the laptop cool anymore, but helps keep your lap from getting roasted.
 
well its fresh my girlfriend pick some virus up off of facebook and so i did a complete system restore, is there any way to tell if something had a virus attached to it?
