hello,

You have to plug the keyboard and mouse in first, unless that wasn't what you meant in the way you worded it. Anything written on the board?

Try removing the card and seeing if there is anything written on it.

If it doesn't work in that machine, try it in another?

It'll most probably be a CAD card, which will rule out any gaming etc... on it... it will only be useful for general computer stuff and of course CAD...

i boot up the computer, and then if the mouse and keyboard is plugged in they are unresponsive, ive tried all USB slots, and also different mice/keyboards.

My dads IT guy was over the other day and had a quick look, he said it was a really good gaming card.. I think he said is was like a 9400 but i dunno..

Can you guys actually see the picture?

It's a bit hard to see what a card is just from a picture. It could be a Nvidia 9400.. which is not a great gaming card, it would run some lower end games, or high end games on low settings.

maybe you could get your dad to ask him what the card was?

Well my dad knows nothing about computers, he hires IT people to help set up all his computers and software.

Its strange that you said it is not very good, Like im not doubting you or anything, its just that the IT person from the other day said it is a great card for gaming. Im just curious to know how good it is from your POV.

Say if i were to run like, call of duty modern warfare 2 on this machine, what settings would need to be set in the game?

Low or Medium, depending on the resolution. the 9400GT is not a gaming card at all really, but a signifigant improvement from something like integrated graphics (I'm looking at you, Intel Extreme Graphics 2 ;))

It doesn't look liquid cooled, and isn't liquid cooled.

Download CPUz, click graphics tab and it will tell you what card it is.

Download CPUz from here http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

=EDIT=

Just read the comments on the picture, Stephen Fu is quite right, with such a small, passive heatsink, it isn't going to be a very good card, and also because of the length of it

I'm in australia, one week of school left. It's summer for you, you're on summer holidays... I get summer holidays at the end of the year when it's winter for you :P

Yeah it appears to be a 9400GT. To find out, download the drivers for the 9400gt of nvidia's website and install them. if you get an unsupported hardware error then it's some other card.
