Tips for building my first PC

I have the build I think I'm happy with. My only concern now (I hope, at least) is that I can't decide between two motherboards, and I hope you guys can recommend which of the two you would get, as well as any other thoughts on my final build. I definitely feel like the motherboard is the weakest part of my build, in terms of what I have done research-wise, and confidence in my choice. It might be a great part, but I'm not sure, and I don't know how to verify that.

This budget is just about perfect for me, as it leaves me enough to pick up Windows 7 with my student discount.

Please, let me know if there are any changes you would make to the build! Otherwise I should be ordering it in the next few days.
 
Looks like a really good build.
I like the fact that you chose AMD as the AM3 890GX motherboard will in future support bull dozer.

Go with the 890GX board.

True, (most) are 13/17. Built one maybe two or three computers. Probably replaced a few things and are, they know what he said people or Google Masters. Or just talk blatantly out their butt.
