I'd look at the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R, seriously. It performs on par with the ASUS P6X58D Premium but is cheaper and has a few more features too.

No-brainer really.

Yea, as above really...

The i7 930 or i7 980X CPU's, some Corsair XMS 1600Mhz RAM (3GB or 6GB).

The i7 930 is fantastic bang for buck but if you got money burning a hole in your pockets then the only other alternative is the i7 980X.

What you gonna do with the rig?

just for every day use really, wanna play games, multimedia, burning browsing internet.if theres any other motherboards which are cheaper, but still have the performance for what ineed it for ure info would be gr8 as i say im new to the building side.thnx

I wouldn't go anything less than the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R. It's already at a great price. So stick with it and go for the Intel i7 930 CPU to go with it. Start with 3GB Corsair 1600Mhz XMS RAM.

When it comes to graphics cards it's a bit harder. Some might say go for the HD5770 for the cheap but i'd rather get a second hand HD4870/HD4890 for nearly the same price cause the HD4870/HD4890 will slaughter the HD5770, the only plus for the latter is DX11 but meh! Otherwise go for a HD5850.

The corsair XMS memory is a value RAM and it sucks he would rather go with a GSkill or Patriot or mushkins high performance memory with heatsinks and better overclockability

A 5830 will perform similar to the 4890.
+1 for the HD 5770 it sucks

any suggestions on a tower.this is gr8 info thnx, much appreciated.

Mmmmm... Case wise?

Cheap and cheerful it has to be the Antec Three Hundred. It's the go-to case when building to a budget. I wouldn't consider anything else unless you want to spend more.

thnx milhir, all of this info gr8 help, milhir could u price me a rig up,it will be used for gaming and everyday use.my budget only around 400 pound tho, have screen, mouse ,keyboard,im lookin for a gigabyte or asus board thnx
