Terribly slow internet...

I've recently come to the conclusion that I'm tired of the lack of speed I get while surfing the web (on anything... youtube... google... games etc), so I decided to do a speed test ( )

This really makes no sense, because it takes an exceptionally long time to load even a short vid on youtube, even though I apparently have a 1.5~2mbit download speed.

What could be causing such epic lack?

TIA

Are you sure you've not got your bits and bytes mixed up, you're downloading at approx 250 kilobytes/ second which is an iffy speed for YouTube, also why is your test done from a Florida server, distance of 9,150 miles with a massive ping of 318ms when you live in Australia.

250 kb/s? Where does it say that? O.o
And I did a test from an Australian server, and it was roughly the same except with 38 ping... But I don't think it matters THAT much, because either way I'm dling at way less than it says I can/do

Speedtest is showing your result in Megabits. There are 8 bits in one byte therefore you are downloading at about 250 kilobyte/second.

EDIT: To prove the point, on the Speedtest site go to top left hand corner and click on "settings". Set it to kilobytes and see for yourself.
