Should i xfire?

I bought myself a 5830 a few days ago, thinking it would be a drastic change from my old 4850, It didnt really astound me as much as i thought it would, so im thinking about crossfiring them. I heard that 5830 x2 would beat out a single 5870. Im stuck and dont know if its worth the effort or not. I could try to sell my card, and somehow gain more money, or i could just crossfire. Well would it be worth it?
 
you bought 2 5830's? or you want to crossfire your 4850 with your 5830? the latter is impossible.

Um no. I have one 5830. The 4850 is in a box. Im gonna sell it later. But im just asking if i should buy another 5830 and crossfire them.
 
well 2x 5830 in Xfire should outperform a 5850 according to Gpu review and as been as you already have one 5830 i think its a good idea :)
 
An HD 5830 is a really good card and should seem like huge improvement over the HD 4850.
First Try installing new drivers of the 5830 and what res are you at and playing which games are you playing.

Because the HD 5830>=GTX 275 is a huge improvement over the HD 4850=GTS 250.
So try the above first and then for crossfiring you would need atleast a PSU of 650W remember that

Yeah, i do have all the newest ATI drivers installed. Im playing at 1920x1080. Thats one of the reasons i need more power. My current PSU is 700W. So i guess that will work out. I also have the choice of selling BOTH 5830 & 4850. And adding a little more money to buy a single 5870. Iv been hearing that
2x 5830 > 1 5870. So im not sure what to do, with taking things like power consumption into consideration.
 
I can vouch That the 5870 is a truly great card its upto you which way you go on this though. If you have enough space in your case the 5870 is probally the way to go as you will get a bit better future proofing and then later if need be get another 5870 :D
 
I would always go with one card rather than going for 2 cards in crossfire.
Since crossfire will give more heat require more power and also cramp the case and will be more expensive and more drivers to maintain and also will not work as efficiently as a single card.
Better you sell the cards and go for a single 5850 or a 5870
