I am receiving unwanted emails e.g find your life partners ,, etc . i might have subscribed for that site ever.. but i don't wanna receive that kind of emails any longer ,, i read that mail carefully but un-subscribe option wasn't there..
please tell me how can i prevent those emails... plz

The unsubscribe is usually in tiny font at the bottom. You could also check the message and mark it/report it as spam.

And if you use Outlook Express, you could try downloading the program Spamihilator. I used it forever until my ISP finally stepped up on their own spam filters.

what email service/email client are you using?

regardless, mark each one as spam when you get it and it'll be the last one from that address - unfortunatley spam mail is not going away anytime soon

The only true way to prevent spam is to ensure your email address is never exposed on the internet. As soon as your email address is available on a website in any shape or form then its available to spammers. Spam spiders crawl the web constantly looking for fresh email addresses.

I agree with Ron about using the free servises like Yahoo... I know they have a script that posts emails stright b4 you get to your inbox ....
Best way to not get spam is to buy a email account or use GMX as they limit/cut off spam coming in ..
And not sign up to things like the relationship sites or anything that will pass on your email for money..

i've found its good to have two different email services. keep your original email for family, friends, work etc but when it comes to registering for websites or general internet use you can use an alternative email provider like cleanzer:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/162019/

this add-on, that is unfortunately only available on firefox, provides a new random email address every time you register for a website yet still allows you to access the emails you receive. furthermore, in the URL bar, it indicates whether websites are good or bad for spam and consequently trustworthy to register with.

it might not prevent spam but it'll definitely help

I just use gmail and no spam ever makes it to my inbox. What email service are you using?

Yeah I find Gmail to be really good for blocking spam... I'll get maybe 1 or 2 spam emails every now and again, but nothing more than that. Though I do use my old Hotmail account for signing up on websites etc... so that all the spam gets directed there...then i can just ignore it all :)
