hey thanks for everyone looking at this, so this guy at microcenter sold me a Biostar A780L motherboard and an AMD Athlon 2 quad core processor along with a gig of ram, i got most all of it in my dimension 8250 shell but i encountered a problem: the front panel connectors in my shell are a ribbon cord and the ones in the mobo are the separate pins for power on, sleep, led's, ect. I am on a pretty tight budget and want to get this up and running as cheaply as possible (preferably free but that may not be an option)

oh and guess what he said my ATI Radeon 9500 would be compatible with the mobo and it isnt so super

Unfortunately with the 8250 case your best bet would be to get another case. Even a cheap one from New Egg would be a better deal than trying to work that Dell case. Doing a backward swap into a Dell case is a major pain in the ass. If you look at this thread where I swapped the guts out of a 4550 case into another case and you'll see the problem. The 8250 uses that same front panel controller and they are NOT compatible with a non-Dell MB.
