Which Case LEDs

He posted the pics and the outcomes of a build which i tried to help with (see previous posts). The outcome is really quite underwhelming. No trolling. I simply said i thought it is a POS, which most computer knowledgable people would agree. It looks crap. My 5 or so words were met with a filthy emotional response. Suck it up. Im sick of the political correctness. It is what it is, IMO, shite. That is what forums are for - opinions. I am very positive in other threads, helpful even, so don't suggest im trolling simply becuase i don't give a pat on the back for what is a very average effort.

I still fail to see your point. Why so negative about it? You say you're positive in other threads, whats different about this one?(are you bipolar? can I talk to the other you for a little while?) Why so hostile all of a sudden when there is no need to be? You could have chosen any choice of words, but you chose what you did. Also this is not an opinion Forums, it's a Computer Forum. I also fail to see anything wrong with what he did. He took something old, and made it new again. Maybe the parts are outdated, but that doesn't make it as a POS in anyway. Also there was nothing filthy about my response, you obviously don't have a problem giving your negative opinions, so why should you have a problem getting them?

I've been working with computers for over 15 years. I have 126 hrs towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. I've held many jobs in technology. I am more than qualified to determine whether or not a computer is a "piece of shit".

Staying with the folks because I just got off of probation and I relocated here after a business I was running with my father didn't quite suite me. I'll be 9 months sober on the 23rd, and I'm trying to get my life back on track. I've got money saved - I didn't spend more than $20 building this case, and it would only take $10 more for some more plexiglas.

This is not a state-of-the-art build. It's a "trash-to-treasure" project. Even after I fractured the original mobo pulling it in and out over and over, I just dug another out of my stack and soldered some new capacitors in it. Works great.

I don't know where you get your specs for Windows 7, but from Microsoft:
Code:
If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:
[LIST]
[*] 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or [URL="http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/64-bit-support"]64-bit (x64)[/URL] processor
[*] 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
[*] 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
[*] DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
[/LIST]
So, yeah, a P4 3.0 GHz w 1GB RAM and a 512MB Graphics card can (and does) run Windows 7 flawlessly. The computer in my signature is an old laptop I use sometimes. I have several computers. I just thought it would be real "cute" to put my oldest machine in my signature since everyone else has these awesome specs in theirs.

Anyway, thanks joh06937 and Fatback for your input. As for your opinion bigfella, I think maybe you ought to try building a case from scrap yourself, and then get back to me on what a "very average effort" is.

Yes, it needs some cable management, and I want to put the plexiglas on the outside, making it a door, and put a latch for easy access. And it needs new case fans - the old used ones on it are a little noisy - I'm thinking of getting some green LED fans. Then just touch it up with some paint.

Anyway, it's just a hobby, something to do besides drink. I'm not trying to win the "build of the year" award or anything. I enjoyed building it, and I think it looks really cool.

Yeah, there would be more room on standing up-right, but then you couldn't see inside. I'm just going to have to rearrange my little corner.[/edit]

ill avoid the nasty comments but it does look quite nice, i hate white/beige cases and that looks pretty nice in terms of a mod, looks much nicer than the stock look the case had originally

lol... damn, got me there. meh, it happens... pulling it in and out of there 16 times while I was making adjustments with such a tight fit, I must have gotten a little carried away... I'm never as cautious with my own used stuff as i am on customers' stuff or brand new stuff... I don't agree that the box is a "POS", but whatever - you're entitled to your opinion... :good:
