Replacing Old Ram With New Ram

Thanks. What am I looking for, to determine if it supports anything but 5300?

Chipset P35/G33/G31

PCI Express x16

Let me know if you need any other info.

The Chipset determines what CPU it supports, in your case socket 775 (core 2, celeron, etc.)

PCI Express x16 is an Expansion slots mainly used for video cards.
The info I need is the model/manufacturer of your motherboard. In CPU-Z, go to Mainboard>look at Motherboard section>tell me model/manufacturer, then you can google it yourself, or ask me :)

BTW, if this for some reason doesn't work, then go to crucial.com, and it will tell you the memory your system supports, just click on the homepage, "scan my computer"

Thanks for your help. :)

Crucial says 5300/6400. Guess I will be ordering some 6400 to help. I'll experiment with minor OC'ing with the cpu/gpu to squeeze what I can from the computer while I'm here, and leave again for school.
