Does it matter? ram ?

Could someone tell me if I have a Samsung PC2700-512MB-DDR-CL2.5 stick of ram and a Nanyu PC2700-512MB-DDR-CL2.5 stick of ram can I use them both in the same computer to get a total of 1GB ram. I know that the computer will support 1Gb ram and the Nanyu came from it. Or does the ram have to be from the same manufacture? and is there any thing else to look for as far as compatible sticks of ram?

As far as my memory goes, I think it doesn't matter.
How ever it might matter if you try and enable dual channel.

Even if the RAM sticks were different I don't think it would matter because the computer just makes the faster ram run at the slower rams speed.

However it would be good if someone else would back me up on this =]
